This book starts out where the first book left off. Darlington is trapped in hell; and Alex and Dawes are determined to save him. They have to find a way into hell, assemble a crew, and figure out how to fight off demons. I enjoyed the first part of the book, but things dragged on towards the end and seemed repetitive. This book was just way too long.
This was all over the place but I loved it nonetheless. Needed more of Darlingtons POV so it’s a 4.5.

i feel like the pacing was kind of off, but i lovedd darlington's devotion to alex by the end. i need a bit more time to process this, and i can write more once all of my thoughts have been gathered.

Me ha gustado más incluso que el primero de la saga: magia, Yale, vampiros, amigos luchando contra demonios, sociedades secretas ¿qué podría no gustarme? Espero con ganas el siguiente. Estos los he de leer en inglés porque la ´maravillosa´ editorial que los edita aquí no saca ebooks de sus libros (todo mal) y yo no tengo espacio para más libros así que en inglés tocan.

Didn't enjoy it as much as the first one I dipped in and out quite a few times. The story was a bit convoluted! But I still love the heart of the series I just think it needs to pick a single goal and work towards that rather than a million different demons. I like the root of dark academia and more of this in the 2nd book would have been great!! Rather than everyone suddenly getting powers just cos they went into Hell, and the vampire features when no one seemed to know they existed? I did like a lot of parts don't get me wrong - Darlington's rescue, Alex's wheelwalker revelations, Mercy's integration, the main Anselm twist. I hope Alex just closes the gate and just gets with Darlington already cos the sexual tension is TOO MUCH. And they sort out the Lethe stuff.
Very much caters to a specific taste but if you happen to enjoy that taste, there aren't many writers better equipped to deliver it.
