There is so much that I loved about this book. I love spy books, it has key female characters (Iris, Ruth, Russian KGB agent), it is based on historical fiction (Britain's Cambridge Five), and it has unexpected twists and turns. However, there are some things I did not like about the book. It jumped back and forth in time (Did this really add anything? I found it annoying. Why not just the story chronologically? I have no idea the purpose of and information provided by the scene where someone broke into Ruth/Fox's apartment in Moscow. Lastly, it is not explained how KGB agent knew where to find the family and how she arrived so quickly. Someone guessed that it had to do with detaining British Orlansky's (spelling) granddaughter; this is possible, but were there any clues to this connection? I downgraded my rating primarily because of the skipping back and forth timelines.
