ARC received from the author. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own.

I was really excited for this one since K. Webster does PNR great! While it’s a good book...this one isn’t my favorite. It felt like the author didn’t put her typical magic into it.

It’s a good read with an outcome I most definitely did not expect! I can’t deny the plot of this book is awesome, as are the characters. Remy has a tragic backstory and I laughed so hard at most of Cy’s attitude.

What I disliked was the relationship between the two. There’s steam, but I felt uncomfortable through some of it. I love age-gap romances, taboo but this one felt too...too something. The characters had such a dad-son vibe that I found the switch to romantic a bit troubling and just hard to read.
Not a favorite from this author but still an entertaining read.

4.5 Alpha Stars ✨
I don’t read many shifter books. I loved that I never felt like I wasn’t understanding the dynamic, terminology or rules. It was not over done and it was easy to catch onto without it being a simple story.
I loved the characters! They had great interactions that were both emotional and funny.
The steamy factor is great! I loved the wolf pack dynamic with the romance and sexy stuff ;)
There’s a mystery/thriller aspect that kept me on my toes.
It’s an emotional, sexy and thrilling story.
I loved the chemistry between the pack and between the lovers.
There’s some cameos from characters that are crossovers from another “world “ that was really fun!
Thoroughly enjoyed and definitely recommend it!

I loooooove shifter books! And I looooove K Webster so I knew I had to read this book! It’s MM which I also loved. Cyrus was a total alpha the whole book. And I love a strong alpha who has semi questionable morals. Lol. Remy was so likable in my opinion! I think sometimes it’s hard to write a character with a disability but K Webster did such a great job! I loved the dynamic of the pack and I love how everybody interacted with each other. It definitely screamed family. I don’t wanna give too much away because I could literally spill the whole story right now. If you like shifters and if you love K Webster, go read this book and enjoy it as much as me!!

Can we just twist all of my favorites into one book? Yes, it's possible!!

✔️Paranormal
✔️MM Romance
✔️Angsty emotions
✔️Twisty plot
✔️Interconnected books
✔️Favorite author

I love, love, love K. Webster books! While I hadn't read any of her paranormal books, yet, I'm soooo glad I jumped into Shift of Morals as the pool to make that plunge.

Cyrus is the Alpha of a ragtag pack in Brigs Ferry Bay, Maine. When he left his family years ago, he thought he might live alone forever, but one by one other lone wolf shifters found him and he eventually found himself the Alpha of a new pack. What surprised Cyrus more than his patchwork pack is finding a mortally wounded boy in the woods, Cyrus took Remy home and after a decade of raising and caring for him, Cyrus' feelings surrounding Remy become a tornado of mixed emotions and he doesn't know how to act anymore. On top of that there are murders happening all around the woods, close to where they live and dealing with an angry Remy should be the least of his worries instead of worrying about his safety when all Remy wants to do is escape from the world he's grown up in.

I don't want to give away too much, since there are some great plot twists, but I have to say anyone who is familiar with the Brigs Ferry Bay series, you'll run into some of those past characters. I was jumping with glee to not only revisit those characters, but also to see how the paranormal world interacted with the mortal world. Webster didn't disappoint.

Lastly, now that I've swum in the pool of K. Webster's paranormal world, I'm excited to return again, she always delivers top notch! I loved Shift of Morals with all of the twists and angst, it was amazing!

If you know K. Webster, you know she writes some of the best MM romance novels.
Shift Of Morals had everything that I desire in a PNR book.
Frienemies to Lovers✔️
Wolf shifters ✔️
Fated mates ✔️
Steam ✔️
Plot twists ✔️
Engaging and unpredictable ✔️
Age gap ✔️
Swoony HEA ✔️

Cyrus Hames is a wolf shifter and the Forest Ranger of Brigs Ferry Bay (which I freaked out about when I saw this. If you love MM, read the Brigs Ferry Bay series!)
In the beginning of the book he comes across a very gruesome scene of two dead bodies and a near-dead little boy. That boy is Remy. He ends up getting adopted by Cyrus and his small pack.

Fast forward 10 years, like any teenager, Remy is a moody one but rightfully so because Cryus, being the alpha, is extremely strict with Remy and has never allowed him to have friends or go to public school which leaves Remy extremely lonely. He has a lot of pent-up anger from his family being slaughtered and the culprit never caught and from his adoptive family being overly controlling.

“I may not have made him happy, but he’s always made me happy, even when we didn’t get along. We weren’t a complete pack until he joined us. He’s our heart, the pulse, the blood flowing through us. “ - Cy

But Remy is about to turn 18, and threatens to leave the pack so Cyrus gives him the job following him as a Forest Ranger. From there, Remy finds his first friend who are the new family of town. And Remi is extremely excited to finally have a cute boy in his sights who also happens to be gay.
Is it a coincidence that as soon as this family moved in, more mutilated dead bodies have showed up in the forest?

Trust me this story is not as predictable as it sounds. There is a ton of backstory that I genuinely did not see coming at all. And this book was written flawlessly with perfect pacing in my opinion and full of steam and banter.

Shift of Morals is a book shrouded in mystery. We get 1 overprotective alpha, 1 mild mannered young man, and one hell of a twisted story.
When Cyrus first stumbles upon Remy he is near death. Cy does what any compassionate person would do.. Lets fast forward 10 years and we get a broody alpha, and a depressed teen who wants to be anywhere but where Cyrus is. The past creeps up and becomes the present and these two are forced to face buried memories. The question is once those memories resurface who is going to be made to suffer? Cy or Remy?
This story is far from rainbows and unicorns, but is raw and gritty. The mystery that surrounds them had me hooked. I needed to know what was going to happen. I found myself chewing on my thumb while reading this, because I needed to see how things were going to play out. I will say K. Webster did not disappoint I for one loved how everything worked out.

I received an ARC from GRR and this is my honest review.

This book started slow for me... and I didn't connect with the characters until I reached the 55% mark.
After that:
- I liked Cy and Remy.
- I liked their connection and how they made the shift from sort of enemies/warden-prisoner dynamic they had to lovers.
- Age Gap
- slow burn
- Possessiveness and jealousy

Before that, I didn't like both of them, but I'm glad it got better.
There is also only one sex scene and that was a bit underwhelming after the slowburn.

No matter what she writes K. Webster manages to keep me engaged until the very last word.

No story that Webster writes is easy, but they all have a wonderful plot and story development. This book took me through unexpected twists and left me heartbroken for Remy's back story. If you are a lover of the more untalked-about subjects such as MM, PNR, Age-Gap pick this book up today.

Cyrus takes the boy home and nurses him back to health. Years later Remy has grown into a man and Cyrus is starting to look at him in ways he believes he shouldn't.

Character development was brilliant throughout. The plot twist was fantastic and I didn't see it coming.

3.5 stars.

I enjoy a good fated mates story and this was a cute one.

Although it was pretty predictable, I enjoyed the back story plot twist, it made the story a little more interesting.

Remy was absolutely adorable and while Cy wasn't my favorite, I understood him.

All in all, a cute read.
