Well. It is over.
No more Lucas.
No more Bianca.
I will miss reading about Balthazar, Ranulf, and Vic. Luckily Bal will get his own book /squee

Not bad.
The ending felt a little rushed though.
But I liked it. I would recomend this book to read (once you have read the first 3... So I recomend the series xD )

I mean I didn't even think this was the type of series I'd finish even after I hated Stargazer for some reason, but after Hourglass I think I just finally started to get into the story and by the time I started having these incredible feelings towards the characters especially Balthazar and Lucas and Bianca, it was too late and lots of shit was happening. I mean some people might disagree with me but this is honestly one of my favorite series and I wouldn't mind re-reading it one bit. I mean it's not too gory when it comes to the vampire element and I like that Claudia Gray eventually brought in some new supernatural element to the story which are the wraiths.
OK I have to emphasize on HOW HARD I WAS SCREAMING AT THIS BOOK BECAUSE LOTS OF PLOT TWISTS HAPPENED AND I DIDN'T EVEN EXPECT IT.
I mean half the time there were so many revelations I couldn't even KEEP UP it wasn't confusing but it was a lot to take in basically.
The characters:
Bianca. Let me just say this. Bianca is not your typical weak heroine. She's not. Bianca's been through a lot of crap in this book and I can't even being to talk about the crap she dealt with in the second and third book. I don't even know how she dealt with it all but she did and I honestly didn't find her poorly developed in any way.
Lucas. Let me just say I love him and Bianca and his sacrificial love and all that and while he wasn't my all time favorite character in this book he had to deal with a lot of stuff too and I don't blame him when he cracked and had a breakdown a couple dozen times during the story. He had to deal with more crap then Bianca for God's sakes.... But I love the fact that he tried to indure all the shit that was going on and fight, for the sake of Bianca and nobody else.
Balthazar. Please me just give you a warning that my love for Balthazar is ETERNAL. If I go in a trip across the universe and suddenly lose my memory I think I'd still love Balthazar. I'm probably overreacting which is a tendency of mind but if you want a well developed and loving character. Balthazar is it.
This review was longer then I had intended but I think I wrapped this review from the Evernight series as a whole. I do recommend this series though.

I wasn’t quite ready to finish this series, as I know we’d have to say farewell to Bianch, Lucas + crew. But I have to vie kudos to the author for writing such believable characters and romances.
Although the series is told from Bianca’s perspective, I thought that AFTERLIFE was really Lucas’s book. His vulnerability and fear of becoming what he despises the most – as well as his ongoing struggle to “make it” as a vampire for Bianca’s sake – really won him over for me. Bianca’s growth and maturity are also evident in this book. She persuades Lucas to seek out sanctuary at Evernight and continually supports him with his new change. Their friends – Balthazar, Ranulf, Vic, and Patrice – also do their part in helping Lucas adjust to his newfound vampire state, as well as try to figure out what exactly is Mrs. Bethany up to with the wraiths. The ending was unexpected but remained true to Lucas and Bianca’s relationship.

A conclusion to one of my beloved series that hit all the right marks and made all the right spots. Adored and loved every second, tear jerker for sure. My copy has a collection of tear stained pages that I hold close to my heart. The series as mentioned before will remain sat on my shelf, loved and cherished until I eventually grow too old to care for vampires and such ridiculousness.
I was not as big of a fan of this book as the other three. I thought it was brave of Gray to keep her as a wraith, even though she had the opportunity to change that. I really didn't care for the characters as much the way they were written in this book. Definitely bummed me out.
Afterlife is the fourth and final book in the Evernight series. In this book Bianca has turned into a wraith and Lucas (a former vampire hunter) has been turned into a vampire. The two (along with Vic and Balthazar and the gang) return to Evernight Academy so that Lucas can learn how to deal with being a vampire. Bianca has to come to terms with being a wraith and they must find out what Mrs Bethany plans on doing with the wraith's she's been trapping.
This was a nice finale to the series. All four books linked together well and the story had a nice ending that wrapped up everything well. If you enjoyed the other three books in the series you will not be disappointed.
Appropriateness: There is no drug or alcohol use in this novel. There also is no sex (although there was sex in the third book in the series). I would recommend this books for readers 12+ The lexile for the series is around 760 putting it at about a fourth grade reading level.

I have not read from this series for a while, so the beginning I was a bit confused about what was going on but then I got back into it.
I do like this series, but this is Claudia Gray's first one and she has come a long way. I liked the plot and the characters and the banter but some things were a bit stupid.
The fact that Bianca was jealous of literally every female no matter who they were was really annoying. Lucas is not going to leave you girl, so there is no need to hate on everyone. Like Lucas literally saved a girls life and because she was beautiful, Bianca wished that Lucas didn't save her??? what the hell man.
Also the book felt rushed. For most of the book the story was done really well and then it was getting closer to the end and everything all of a sudden was really really rushed. I also guessed the big reveal early on with quite a lot of foreshadowing.
So those things weren't the best but Claudia Gray is one of my favourite authors, so this book gets an average rating.

Íbamos medianamente bien pero el final ha sido demasiado pasteloso para mí.
Al menos ahora ya me puedo leer el libro de Balthazar.
