I am so sad to see this series end, I want to read about the Bailey’s forever, please.

Whenever I am introduced to a family of characters that will each get their own story, as a reader there are always one or two that I am most looking forward to. With the Baileys, Levi and Ethan were it. Finally getting to Levi’s story was bittersweet, but it was worth it. We got a hint of who he was in Logan’s book but he is so much more. The classic Romeo and Juliet story was a major twist was perfect for him and Annika. And Thomas was so cute. I loved everything about this book and feud/treasure conclusion was not what I ever would have guessed. Wow.

The series overall was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I want Gram to give me an animal name too

What I loved about this book:
*Levi ((Swoon!)
*The romance
*Levi
*The Bailey Brothers
*Levi
*The twins’ secret communication and Logan’s bro-names for Levi
*Levi
*The mystery and suspense
*Levi
*The meaning of the title

What I didn’t like:
*It’s the end of the Bailey Brothers series. But the Havens are next.

Thank you, Claire, for writing such a wonderful book at such a difficult time in your life.

Was not my favorite in the series, but still good!! I did feel like it was rushed since there were so many lose ends to tie up! I liked Levi and Annika but I feel like everyone overhyped their lives story to me. But overall it was a great ending. I love the Bailey fam and am sad their story is over. Im excited to pick back up with the Havens!! Which also, who the heck is this sixth Haven brother who randomly got mentioned in this book as a person who just left town?! I felt like that was the first we had heard of him.

I finally new what gram's name was

i enjoyed the mystery and family drama aspect of the story more than the romance itself. the writing at some parts were kinda :// hahaha ... overall, still a great read!

Bittersweet

This series has been one of my favorites from this author. So much so, that I didn't want it to end, even though, in a way I did. I was invested in the mystery, the feud, the characters, and the family ties. So, of course, I needed to see Levi get his happily ever after and see how this died could end.

I couldn't have picked a better character for Levi to have as a love interest. Not, just because it was obvious but because it showed that love doesn't have to be forbidden or tragic. These two were the perfect balance of each other. They were willing to risk it all for love, and that is powerful.

In many ways, it felt like a major triumph for not only these characters/families but for me, the reader, to see this author overcome such loss and still manage to write about love when her heart was broken. I don't know the author or her late husband personally, but through social media I felt like I did. It felt like he was still such a part of this story, with the cultural aspects(animal names) to the unconditional love that was shown through this series and this book. Perhaps that is why, Levi is my favorite.

Thank you to this author for this journey. I love getting the chance to live in different places through your eyes. Thank you for making reading fun, and reminding me that love is real. Looking forward to the Haven family.

As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner):
Rewriting the Stars by Claire Kingsley is a phenomenal story and the perfect conclusion to the Bailey Brothers series! I really enjoyed the play on Romeo and Juliet in the telling of Levi and Annika’s story; though I do like Claire’s version better since there’s no actual bloodshed or death in this version.

I loved Levi! I loved how he relentlessly pursued Annika, without regard to the long-standing feud his family had been involved with Annika’s family. I loved how Thomas, Annika’s son, gravitated towards him even before he and Annika decided to pursue a romantic relationship. I loved how Annika stood up for herself against her brothers and how she didn’t allow them to boss her around.

I really enjoyed Annika’s brothers, even though they were mostly a pain in the butt, and I can’t wait to see what Claire does with their series! I especially can’t wait for Zachary’s story. He was giving me major Gibson Bodine vibes from Claire and Lucy Score’s series Bootleg Springs. In that series, Gibson seemed like a total a-hole until you got to know him more and discover his backstory. Similar to Gibson, Zachary was a major a-hole for most of the book due to his animosity towards the Bailey bros; I wished someone would just punch him in his face. Then, when he finally saw that Annika and Levi were legit about their feelings, he became a major softy (I think.)

This book also saw to the conclusion of the mystery of the treasure and who was sabotaging the Baileys. That, in addition to Levi and Annika’s love story, kept me turning the pages until the very end!

As I said before, I am excited to see where Claire takes the Havens in their series. I am quite sure that we will still see the Baileys pop up every once in a while and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble they get into/pranks they play. Of course, I’m interested to see who catches the eye of those Havens and if we’ve already met them in the Bailey Brothers series.

If you’re looking for a cute and steamy, forbidden love story between a single mom and a firefighter with a hint of mystery and suspense, this is the story for you. Though if you have not read from the beginning, starting with Protecting You, you will need to because, while there are no cliffhangers, there is an overarching storyline that the stories do build off of.
