This is golden "cozy era" Lilian Jackson Braun. If you are into mysteries that are heavy on setting and light on the mystery, this is a good pick for you. The Cat Who Saw Stars indulges in some of Braun's more interesting tangents: aliens and knitting. The only thing I found a bit frustrating about the novel is that one of the deaths goes unsolved, but mostly it was a delight to revisit this book.

(audio version) I enjoyed the story even though it got off track a bit but managed to come back at the end.

I've been so sick the past week, and reading these books is like coming home. They're so cozy, fun, and I love the conversations, banter, and eccentric characters. She has such a way with writing Midwest people that feels true to life (spoken by a Michigander!), I just love these books with all my heart.

The small county of Mooseville has seen aliens! Rumors about a missing backpacker are that he's been abducted. Qwill with the help of his 2 little aliens, Koko and Yum Yum, dive into another case. And when the backpacker's body has been found, another soon follows. Is it extraterrestrial life or is there a killer loose?

There is nothing here to make a reader invested in any of the characters in this story. Most of it is filler; there’s really no mystery. It was repetitive and boring.
