Two spicy novellas in one book! Both are contemporary and have some minor overlap of characters but each is their own story. These are short sweet spicy stories and they deliver everything they promise.

This is being re-released first but IMHO it should be read after "Forbidden Games", the set of 2 stories in Katee Robert's "Make Me" series which include the first two friends to hook up. These two stories are not as strong as the previous ones, though I suppose they are more standalone than those in Forbidden Games.

In illicit Temptations, the first story includes Aaron, a successful businessman, who meets Becka, the "free spirt" friend and relation of the characters in the stories in "Forbidden Games". They have a one night stand and Becka gets pregnant. She tries to do it all herself but Aaron gets involved. The entire story is him trying to convince Becka that they should be together. I enjoyed the story, but I didn't really feel like Aaron having to tiptoe around Becka the entire time was a very compelling story. Oh, and meanwhil they had sex everywhere at any time.

The second story is Aaron's sister who needs a job, so Aaron offers her the role of assistant in his business. Trish (awful name) gets to know "Cameron O"Cleary" (who is Afircan American with a super Irish name) while Aaron is off on paternity leave. Even though Trish is a strong woman and seems to be able to handle herself, this story is again Cameron having to tiptoe around her and convince her they should be togehter.

Overall I enjoyed the stories, but there wasn't much to them, and I don't konw that I'd necessarily recommend them to anyone who isn't a Katee Robert superfan.

I received an advanced copy and am giving an honest review.

Thank you, Mills and Boon, for sending me a copy of Illicit Temptations.

Cover: pretty and eye-catching!

Plot: The book is two different stories, one following Aaron and the other following Trish. The first story is an unexpected pregnancy. The second is co-workers who shouldn't sleep together but they want to.

Storyline: Both flow really nicely. While they are short stories, they do not feel rushed. I enjoyed the tension in both books.

Would I recommend this book to others: Yes!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This book is two short stories published together - Make Me Yours and Make Me Need.

Make Me Yours

I have never been shy about my hatred of the pregnancy trope, and the first few chapters of this book hit all my sore spots. Aaron blackmails Becka into moving in with him as soon as he finds out she’s pregnant, and with all the past trauma Becka is working through I didn’t fully understand why she would want to have this baby. I never really connected with Aaron’s character, but Becka did grow on me a bit. And as with all Katee Robert books, we get lots of spice and the slow redemption of the characters and their relationship. It is nice that they love each other for their flaws instead of in spite of them, but I found some of those irredeemable and therefore didn’t really connect. 3⭐️

Make Me Need

A boss/employee, older brother’s best friend/ best friend’s little sister spicy romance that is much more suited to my taste in romance tropes. I liked Trish and Cam’s relationship, and I found Cam’s standoffishness/ inability to read others/ tendency to take things literally more of a neurodivergent trait than a character flaw. I will also always love a character with retro style, and Trish’s use of her sunny disposition to hide her real emotions reminded me of Persephone from the Dark Olympus series. I found her actions towards the end really stupid, and I felt like the solution to their problem was more obvious than they made it out to be, but it resolved fairly quickly into their HEA. 4⭐️

Sometimes you just need a quick smutty book to break up the tough books and this book does that perfectly.
I really liked both stories, if you are a fan of Hannah Bonam Youngs “out on a limb”. You will like this story and the second one is just a quick bit of fun to read.
I really liked how Katee managed to tell both characters side of the story with their thoughts changing through out the chapters instead of having a chapter each.
It was really not a deep book and went by super quick.  I will pick up more from this author. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read and review.
