I recently had the opportunity to read Katherine Bradley's novel, "The Sisterhood", thanks to Random Things Tours. As I delved into the book, I found myself immediately drawn to its dystopian world, which gave me echoes of George Orwell's "1984" and Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale". The novel features a range of characters who I found brave, intriguing, and interesting, although it is worth noting that the book does contain some heavy and potentially triggering topics. Therefore, it is important to check for trigger warnings if you plan to read this one.

Despite the challenging topics addressed in the book, I was impressed by the quality of the writing, which was both clever and thought-provoking. The book was also emotional and enraging in equal measure, and there were many times when it was difficult to follow all of the threads. However, I found myself particularly drawn to Julia's story and was intrigued by the secrets she was keeping and her intentions.

Overall, "The Sisterhood" is a powerful novel that provides insights into some of the darker aspects of human nature. While it may not be for everyone, I would recommend it to those who are looking for a challenging and thought-provoking read. I would give it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars.

Big brothers not just watching you - he’s controlling your every move!! I really enjoyed this book, I found that I was quickly into the story and liked our main character Julia.

She seemed a bit of a rebel and I liked the way that the story told us not just what was happening now but also what happened in the past when she was Juliet.

Some of her scenes were so hard and even harder when you have to try to mask your emotion as every flinch is being watched and reviewed, even when she had no idea it was happening!

I wasn’t really sure where the storyline was headed but loved the way it all pieced together and then became clear what needed to happen. I thought the ending was just brilliant.

Let's start with the good things first:

The plot was very, very good. Especially in the latter half of it. The characters were very compelling and I couldn't help rooting for them throughout.

For a book out of one of the bigger publishing houses, I was slightly shocked by the editing. Or seemingly a lack, thereof. There were noticeable sentences which made absolutely no sense, such as "As a woman, I had no tech permissions, so wrote to Arthur, and then when I didn't hear back, My Rymen." And yes, the full stop is where the sentence genuinely ended.

Also, the first part had very key and engaging parts to the plot, however in between said moments, it felt extremely slow and handled sluggishly. These are the reasons it got a 3.5 stars from me. However, I would still recommend it.
