really enjoyed the mix of mystery, transcripts, and pip’s POV. it kept me hooked and made me want to play detective too. some parts felt a little far-fetched, but overall the twists were satisfying and the pacing kept me turning pages. if you’re into YA thrillers with strong characters and lots of red herrings, this one’s worth picking up.

the fear, upset, and shock i felt reading this story was unexpected. pip took me on a thrilling adventure uncovering the tragic story of that april night and days following. enlisting ravi, the brother of the ALLEGED killer, to help prove he was innocent and framed/killed by someone still roaming free. two people dead, a list of suspects, threatening notes, and one true ally, this book has it all.

This was one of the strongest YA thrillers I have ever read. The ending was unbelievably well thought-out, jaw-dropping, and satisfying. I loved Pip and the budding romance element to the story. I enjoyed the investigation and the sneaky and clever ways it was handled. This would have been 5 stars easily for me if Barney hadn't died. Why do so many dogs have to die in great books?
