This is my second time reading this book (although the first read was an audiobook), and wow, did it ever deliver again. There's so much I love about this story. The main character holds a lot of the same convictions I do, so I could relate. The antagonist is not just a baddy-baddy but an actual 3D character with a backstory and a personality; by the end, you're guaranteed to find yourself rooting for him. It deals with big themes and is quite sad in places, which makes it so much easier for the reader to connect to the characters and become invested in their story. Which I was. Very much so.
Highly recommend to those who enjoy the middle-grade genre.
