I don't know man, my main takeaway from this is that I got to read about another of Crouch's specialest little guys.

This felt as if there was a plan at the beginning and then the further we went there was a lot of improvisation. I did like the epilogue, which is rare for me, they are usually pointless. Areas felt a little too convenient. Overall, my least favourite Crouch book, but still solid.

I love sci fi with happy endings, even though this one was bittersweet.

I had high hopes for this book, as I really liked [b:Dark Matter|27833670|Dark Matter|Blake Crouch|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1472119680l/27833670._SY75_.jpg|43161998] and [b:Recursion|42046112|Recursion|Blake Crouch|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1543687940l/42046112._SY75_.jpg|64277987]. I was as happy with science parts in this book as in the last two by Crouch. This one didn't contain time-travel or alternative dimensions, so this one's science seemed a lot more realistic.
Sadly, I was a little disappointed in the story part. Upgrades were beautifully portrayed, but the story beats mostly seemed to conclude with a slow-motion action. As the upgrades were introduced, I was hoping more high-stakes cat and mouse 4d chess analyzes.
Still, the powers by upgrades were still excellent.
