The award-winning supernatural series referencing Edgar Allan Poe that first gave Hagio Moto her fame, The Poe Clan also bears the honour of being the first shôjo comic trade paperback by publisher Shogakukan in 1974, to which it sold ridiculously well. As such it’s a bit hard to state the importance of this work.
