As the title would suggest, this book was emotional and poignant. It takes place in Dublin, Ireland and follows two brothers, 17-year old Joe and 12-year old Finn. Their dad is in prison for gang-related activities and when Finn is diagnosed with cancer, the two brothers and their mother are left to deal with the grief and heartache. I liked the contrast of the gritty, inner city setting of drugs and gangs with a story full of tender moments and familial love. I just wished the story had been more fleshed out. The whole book felt rushed pacing-wise and I think if we had had more time with the characters, the emotional component would have been more impactful
