Need to reread while taking notes, but a great thought provoking book about care, community and relationships

I really enjoyed this as someone who highly values friendship. There was a wide range of benefits and struggles talked about in relation to friendship - and aro-ace spectrum aspects were mentioned.

I do wish that there was more dimension to the book, as it was clear that the author found making friends relatively easy. I wish there was more about how people struggle to make friends, or how they learned to make friends over time.

I think it was just a really nice summary and exploration friendship. It wasn't too deep nor too shallow but had a lot of relevant anecdotes and references to books, writers, speakers and studies showing that friendship is an important factor in media, culture and society. I would say that I was hoping for a bit more about different expressions of friendship perhaps. But overall I enjoyed the writing style and Australianisms.
