I am writing this review after I quickly read the whole series and don’t fully know when one book ended and the other began, so this review is more for a series as a whole.

The series has an interesting concept and some interesting scenes, however it suffers from very poor word building an extreme repetition.

The series very much reads as the books were started without a plan for how they are going to end. So things that are set up in the beginning are ignored or essentially re-written later to make way for whatever the author wants later. One of the biggest problems with this is that the world is extremely under developed and I cannot tell you the motivations for a large handful of main characters. Often times this can be ignored if you don’t think about it too hard, but sometimes it is distracting.

The series suffers from the same scenes being replayed over and over again. There seems to be a desire to always have these big dramatic moments, but not enough variety or explanation as to the differences. The repetition can also be seen in the spicy scenes and the wording. If I never read the word Bonded again, I think I will be all right.

I desperately wanted to focus more on the interpersonal connections of the characters and not these big threats.

I also found the immaturity of the MC to be detrimental to the story. I think I would have liked it more if she wasn’t still practically a child.

Half-way through there is also the reveal that many characters have a sentient parasite living inside them. These beings are not well developed, and that’s just no a troupe I enjoy.

We're finally getting the guys and Oli together, and she's not having to be forced to spend time with them all as much anymore. We also finally get to meet Atlas! I still feel like there's another shoe to drop regarding him, but he is so sweet to her and doesn't let the others intimidate him! I'm so curious about where we are going next with them, but also, I can't wait to see how she's ever going to get Nox on board here. He's so far been the one that's the most adamant and mean to poor Oli! Outside of them, this one did end on a cliffhanger, and I just need to get the next book ASAP!

This one was a bit better or I’m getting stupider and completely obsessed with this bounding shit!
There’s a threesome and sex wise things did heat up.
Things slow down a bit as Oleander and her bonds get into synch kind of.
Of course, my fave had to be the messed up one, Nox. Even his name is the best.

Book 1 was 466 fucks of fantastic….this book only 370…. That is quite a downgrade people!

This is a sequel - which means DON'T read this review if you haven't read the first book because OBVIOUSLY there might be spoilers from book one that are slipped in - I take no blame for this... If you are still reading you do this at your own risk.

Book 1 ended on what we believed to be the worst cliffhanger (you have been warned the one at the end of this is EVEN WORSE) and everything has gone to shit...The WHOLE WORLD basically knows that Oli actually has powers (GOSH, who didn't see that coming!) - she still doesn't want to bond and is a bratty teenager about it and is tortured through exercise. The boys are still fucking insanely hot, moody and pissed off as Oli won't tell them anything but she does get closer to them all - except Nox because he is a pissy enigma of a man....and then shit goes down after people get drunk, have sex, or are just doing normal things like working in a coffee shop.

My worst book icks or turn-offs ALL seem to happen in this book and QUITE frequently...LACK OF COMMUNICATION, chosen one, "not like the other girls", and explosive "firework seeing" first-time sex shit...Yeah, they are all pretty prevalent...there is also a lot of sweating (in the gross exercise kind of way, not the sexy kind of way)

We do get one scene that's steamy and spicy but completely ruined by my utter second-hand embarrassment at the dirty talk... it's like... I need bleach for my eyes after reading this...
“Such a greedy fucking pussy, taking me all the way down like a good girl. Tell me you’ll be good for me from now on, give me this pretty Bonded pussy whenever I want it
Oli is also REALLY immature. She acts selfish and bitchy and thinks she knows best in situations, but taking the world on her shoulders really just makes everything worse. Her saviour complex is probably going to get her killed and quite frankly almost all the relationship drama and angst could be removed by ONE Adult conversation where things are aired out and strategised.

But as much as I didn't like quite a lot in the book, I still inhaled this book and have become addicted and craved to know more about these men and this story. It's like I'm the one in the Bond Haze and I just need all the books surrounding me for comfort and security. I think this is what makes J. Bree's writing so good because it is so easy to devour and enjoy with all the action, angst and drama that you just keep reading.

The BEST THING about this book is the fucking puppies. Those puppies have weaselled their way into my heart, and there is nothing that those puppies will ever be able to do that will make me hate them. I want all their slobber all over me and they can crawl to the back of my neck and nestle in my hair as much as they want. Those puppies deserve to be protected till the end of time. They are the best boys and I loves them!

Basically the TLDR -
THIS BOOK HAD ALL THE THINGS I DON'T like and that make me annoyed BUT I still LOVED it and adored it and am going to the next book - The Draven Bond Men are my new obsession and the amount of Fan Art I have looked at for them scary.....
