A romantasy wonderland! This book was so refreshing and helped get me out of a reading slump! The character development was amazing and the story was interesting and kept you intrigued! I couldn’t put this book down and I am can’t wait to read the next one in the series!

First, screw you Jonas!! How dare you.

I struggled in the first bit of this book to really get into it. There was a lot of nothing going on and a lot of introducing the relationships.

I loved the tension between Jonas and Stilla. It was a great build and I love how Stilla found her way into the crew, figuring out where she fit.

I loved that Jonas felt different, that whole “maybe this is what I needed” thing. But that guy broke all the hearts when he betrayed Stilla. I know he was hurting and felt his own betrayal. But this was not okay.

High 5 to Rey though.

This is by far the best addition to the Viking Romantasy niche genre that I have found so far. The world building, characterization, and readability of this book is not something I normally expect from a book I download from Kindle Unlimited. That’s not meant to bash books on Kindle Unlimited, I’ve found many I would definitely pay normal book price for(I. E. ~$10-$20). However, this book smashed it right out of the park for me. There was romance yes which featured a large part of the story but we got so much more than that. I really recommend this for my Romantasy girlies that are maybe looking for something with a little more substance to their book worlds and more of an in depth look at flawed characters than what I would consider the Romantasy norm.
