Despite all the tropes, this felt like quite an original story.  I thoroughly enjoyed it, especiallly the relationships between the characters.  I liked how we found things out at the same time as Silla, although I think I need to reread as the final arc clarified quite a few things that I admittedly did not pay a lot of attention to when reading earlier chapters.  The romance confused me for a bit then it became clear where things were going.  I can't wait to read the second book.
