"In Her Eyes" is a great thriller. Right from the first chapters you get the feeling that something is off - all characters are acting fishy as if they're all having secrets. Ava Walker makes for a great main character and I liked how well she can take care of herself. There's a TON of twists, some I saw coming, others not at all, but overall the waterfall of plot twists that came at the end was a stroke of genius. All in all it's a fast-paced book that makes for a quick and satisfying read.

This book's blurb described this story as a psychological thriller and that it is. A home invasion leaves Ava and her husband, Robert, injured and her youngest daughter in a coma. The reader follows Ava as she starts to unravel all the secrets that everyone around her seem to be keeping. The secret keeping does not exclude Ava however, and the reader is unsure of trusting any character throughout the book. Even the narrator, Ava.

There are some nail-biting suspense scenes in this book that leave you hanging on to read more. I enjoyed those scenes pushing the story along. This story does truly have you guessing at each character's motives and unsure most of the way through it. You think you have zeroed in on a big revelation in the plot, but you are still looking in your peripheral at other characters because of smaller clues dropped more subtly. Did this book completely astonish and surprise me with all of the twists and turns? No, but if you like suspense thrillers that don't have weird or abrupt surprises coming out of left field, here's a story for you. Everything seemed to fit logically into place and make sense once the story is done.

Overall, I gave this 3 out of 5 stars. I felt for the main character, Ava, and all the horrible things she had to deal with simultaneously. This story didn't have me completely on the edge of my seat or have me in the dark on suspects until the full reveal of everything. However, if you want a normal psychological suspense thriller that has good characters and some subtle clue dropping that lets you make educated guesses as you go, this is a story for you. I also liked the last few paragraphs of the ending, by the way. It added that much more to what you already thought you knew. Good psychological thriller. Enjoyed it.
