We are starting off by saying that this is a new author for us and that we really enjoyed this first novel by her.I really loved it.Looking forward to future reads by her.

One of the things I liked about this story is when two complete opposites meet but have amazing chemistry together. A librarian and Biker who would have thought that they would have anything in common.Who would have thought that a librarian could be sexy too a Biker but, the sparks this couple had scorched the pages.

I always pick a favorite character in a story and mine is going to be Shooter.I choose him because he was just sexy as hell. When he spoke with that velvety voice it made a girls panties wet. When he spoke the only thing a girl would have on her mind would be jumping that bad boys bones.

Shooter had all those bad boy traits that makes a girl want to walk on the wild side.We saw a totally different side to him though.I found him to be patient, kind, possessive, love able, smoking hot, endearing but also had one big heart.
Shooter has closed off his heart but, after meeting Juliette his hearts starts to thaw and we see him opening up little by little.I loved Shooter's interactions with Juliette they were sweet, gentle, possessive, commanding all wrapped up into that one big scary and dangerous biker.I also loved how he could be patient and kind and understanding.Don't get me wrong we saw the dangerous parts of him enough but, he understood what Juliette's past was like so he toned himself down a bit in order for him not to scare her. This made him so sweet .How could a girl not fall for him right then and there. All his qualities just made him more love-able.We saw the most growth in his character throughout the entire story.

I loved Juliette's character as well.Juliette could be sweet, kind, fun loving, and had a rare innocence about her.I loved her interactions with her friends. As a reader the interactions and playfulness give us more then a few smiles along with some laughs as well. Juliette had that wholesome feel about her but, she was a girl that came from a very complicated past full of verbal and physical abuse. This past if hers constantly intervened with her current situations. In doing so it made her current relationship with Shooter tense at times. She treated a judged Shooter for someone else's past deeds constantly which was so unfair to him when he was trying so hard to be supportive.Even though he understood the situation it made for tense encounters but he treated those episodes as he normally did with patience and kindness.I really felt bad for both of these character's and my heart went out to both of them for their past betrayals is just one more thing this couple had in common.

I always wondered what really attracted Juliette to Shooter. His good looks, that bad boy aura, that velvety voice, that danger he represented?I think it was more that she could find someone to trust and protect her and be open with.Him being dangerous and his protective instinct made her feel safe something that she hadn't felt in a really long time. You would think with a touch of this kind of man in her past she would stay clear of a man like him.Shooter's dangerous aura though worked in a positive light in this couples relationship creating that safe environment for her which she needed to feel.I think all in all these things and his protective nature and possessiveness along with their amazing chemistry won her heart in the end. But, in the end she felt safe with him something she hadn't felt in a really long time.Prop's to shooter for accomplishing that.

I love a story were opposites and attract and make a relationship work.Their different personalities helped them learn for one another to make them both whole again. They found themselves doing things that they would not normally do but, and tries to put the other first in most cases. All the character's were engaging and added just what the story needed to keep your interest. You have Juliette's friends the straitlaced good girls and then the dangerous bad boys mixing together making things quite interesting.I love when your able to connect with the character's you read about and I was able to do that with this cast of character's.I liked that it made you have a vested interest in their future.I would love to read more about the other brothers as well in the near future.

Danger, romance twist and turns, love, healing, betrayals and secrets coming to life graced the pages of this story making it quite the page turner. The sexual tension and sparks and the chemistry this couple had added that touch of erotica to the story that heated a girls lion's enough to make this one hell of a hot read as well.Loved it from beginning to end.

I really enjoyed this book. I love Juliette and Shooter's relationship.

Both of these two people are hesitant to get involved, but Juliette decides that she finally needs to live her life.
So she goes out to a club with her friends, not expecting to meet anyone. And not someone who's in a motorcycle 'gang'!
Shooter is instantly attracted to Juliette, but realizes that she isn't like one of his one night stand girls, so he has to decide if this is what he wants.

But Juliette has a past that she can't seem to get away from. So how will Shooter react to her past?

I loved this book. It was quick and easy and so good!

Definitely a favorite, the first time I read it and the second time

Meh, just not that engaging. It focused to much on stereotypes and less on the story line.

I was intrigued by the title. What book lover doesn't want to read about the librarian? I loved it. Not only does the librarian get out and take a walk on the wild side, but she is able to come back from horrible issues that would have made most women man-shy for life. Meeting her biker, she is able to draw from his strength while keeping her sanity. I would love to see more about her very involved friends that included a writer, who may have a book of her own.

Shooter was not your ordinary guy that had grown up in the Motorcycle lifestyle, but had chosen it for reasons of his own. Unsure if Juliette can handle the rough style of the biker life, he is slow to throw her completely into his world. Desperate to see if there is some way to make it work, he will allow her to see a side of himself that he has hidden from even his best friend. Loved it and can't wait to see what the next book will have in store for these characters.

Shyla Colt is one of my favorite IR authors and this book was great. Except one tiny thing was I would have liked to know how the captured Peter after Shooter and Juliette left town. Nevertheless it was still a great read.

Content Warning: Relationship Abuse, Stalking, Harassment, Sex Trafficking,

  • Adore Juliette and her crew.

  • Juliette's struggles with overcoming her abusive relationship was well-done

  • Shooter is alright. Not normally my type, but a good character, no fault with his actions, and seems to be the good kind of alpha male.

  • Never read a biker MC book before and I'm impressed. The more unsavory elements are kept to a minimum and Juliette's handling of it helped me loosen up too.

  • Very sexy scenes

  • Love that they both go to therapy!

  • Suspenseful, enough that it felt like romantic suspense. I thought it was just going to be contemporary romance.

  • I did eye-roll a tiny bit with how quickly they become each other's everything and the mushy talk and *bam* Juliette's his old lady. But it's to be expected and not insurmountable for the more cynical of us.

  • If a big part of being an old lady is wearing the dude's cut, then I damn well want a scene with her wearing his cut!!

  • The obligatory motorcycle scene is included though.

  • I think there was a good balance of romance, friends & family, & drama.

  • Except I do wish there were more details on how Ex was taken care of. Did the MC have nothing to do with it and just talk big? Did Juliette have to testify?

  • I totally want to read about their friends hooking up! And will be checking out her backlist too.

Thanks Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review.

Shooter undeniably hit all my hot buttons. I'm quite stumped on how to exactly rate this because I felt the story shifted twice. The first part of this book sounded similar to another book I read.....so while I read it, I had the feeling of déjà vu. It happens sometimes because I have read so many books and themes sometimes make me feel like I have already read every POV there is. Victoria Dahl had written one about a biker and librarian. This book however captured me and I really thought it was going great until the ex named Peter, showed up. First I felt like the author went a little too far out of the way to introduce this character only to not really follow through. Juliette and Shooter get out of town to avoid the ex and then next thing we know Peter is in jail. There was a lot of hype building him up, why not end it with him? Just wasn't how I expected it to go. Then the book ends with Shooter reconnecting with his brother. I know the synopsis included the ex but it took so long to really introduce him that it really felt like the book shifted instead of a continuation of the plot.

Juliette and Shooter both have past betrayals that haunt them, despite that there is no denying their almost instant attraction.

Things I liked: Shooter is a sweetie! I'm a bit in love with him, your first interaction with him is him thinking about what his father said about the first time he met his mother. Shooter is a biker and loyal to his brothers but he doesn't let that get in the way of his budding relationship with Juliette. He is up front and honest and he also doesn't say he want's her only to turnaround and sleep with another girl.

Juliette went through hell in her first ever real relationship, but she's worked past that (mostly) and is making a real effort with Shooter. She's down to earth and hella classy! But while she is oblivious to the MC life she is willing to learn and accept that as a part of shooter with out trying to change him. Also rather interesting that the conflict in this story doesn't come from the MC but in the form of Juliette's ex.

What I didn't like: A much shorter list, as stated above Juliette doesn't know about MC life, but even though Shooter knows this he is a bit accusatory and defensive when she makes small mistakes. Another point is that yes getting flowers is nice but after the first bouquet that wasn't from Shooter, and not from her mother I would have freaked out and told someone when they ended up on my car and then on my steps.

All in all a pretty good read, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!
