Woah! This book grabbed hold of me from the first page and never let go. Even after finishing it, I’m still thinking about it!

The story flicks between Lucy, Aidan and Connor. The family have more than enough to be dealing with, with the youngest son being ill. I felt mainly for Lucy and Connor. As a mother, not being able to help your child is both heart-breaking and frustrating. The bond between Connor and his younger brother was so endearing but Connor’s head is also somewhere else. In fact all of their heads are currently all over the place.

Lucy, Aidan and Connor are all hiding secrets and I was desperate to find out what they were. I jumped to my own conclusions only to be totally wrong when the jaw dropping revelations start to come. And when I say jaw dropping, I really mean jaw dropping! The author lulls you in, tempting you with little tit bits that has you wanting more. When she serves you with the full truth, my goodness, my reading enjoyment went through the roof and I couldn’t sit still with all the excitement!

All For You had the adrenaline coursing through my body. It is a highly addictive read and one you will want to make sure you have no plans for the day as once you start, you can not stop. As the secrets and lies spiral out of control, I could feel the apprehension at what was awaiting me, growing. It will seriously mess with your head and have you ask yourself what you would do if you were in these characters shoes. A jaw droppingly, addictive psychological thriller that is guaranteed to be a big hit in 2022!

My thanks to NetGalley and HQ Stories for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

I received a copy via Net Galley.

This follows the Walsh family who all have something to hide.
I've had a mixed experience with Louise Jensen's books and this one was not my favourite. The story was fast-paced in most parts however I did not find the story or characters to be particularly memorable.

Louise Jensen always delivers great novels, and All For You is another tense, gripping story. It follows the Walsh family, going through a difficult time - younger son Kieran has multiple health issues and is seriously ill. Eldest son Connor is recovering from a traumatic incident at school involving his girlfriend - one which he is keeping some big secrets about. Turns out, they’re all keeping secrets in their own way, and as some of Connor’s friends start to disappear, some truths come to the surface.

The characters in this novel are convincing and likeable - both Lucy and Aidan seem like well developed characters, though their judgement seems questionable at times! The book demonstrates the effect that stupid, split-second decisions can have by people of all ages. Connor and has friends have certainly made some silly decisions and it has very far reaching effects on those around them.

There’s lots of emotion in these pages. It surprised me and intrigued me; I didn’t guess what was going to happen at all but there were some points which did require some proper suspension of disbelief - but still, it was very entertaining. I enjoyed the slow reveal of significant information and the way so much was tied up satisfactorily towards the end. Good fun and a great read for fans of domestic thrillers!

As you will all know by now, Louise Jensen is one of my favourite thriller writers, and I usually devour her books. Reading All For You, I found it a little slower to really grab me than her other books, in part one at least, although I confess I am not quite able to put my finger on why this was.

Told from the perspectives of Lucy, Aiden and Connor, All For You gives you the opportunity to really get under the skin of each character, to the extent that Lucy’s emotions and thought processes felt so real that at times I had to stop and remind myself that I was reading fiction and this wasn’t about the author’s own family.

Although part one is something of a slow burn, it is full of tension and the sense that something big is coming. That said, nothing prepared me for the start of part two which was so shocking that I was glad to be reading in daylight and not at night – it was most definitely the stuff of nightmares. The pace definitely picks up in the second half of the book, and the revelations start coming thick and fast.

As always with Louise’s books, I jumped from one theory to another to another. Some were right. Others couldn’t have been more wrong. I will leave you to see which conclusions you leap to and how accurate they are.
