A psychological thriller surrounding the lives of the Walsh Family. Parents Lucy and Aidan, sons Connor and Kieron.
The prologue starts in the present then it counts down days before Connor goes missing. There were a group of 3 teenagers. 2 of them have been taken, Connor was the only one remaining.
It’s told from Each of the families points of view.
Lucy comes over as an anxious protective mother. Her anxiety adds tension to the story. There’s a good level of tension and feeling of impending doom. It feels atmospheric and charged with the threat of something bad. There are multiple strands relating to each of the family and their issues, secrets and guilt. They unfold gradually through out the story.
The anguish feels very real. It has a good emotional depth to the characters.
So much going on, with twists and turns keeping me engrossed throughout.
I loved it.
