Vampire for Hire book 1
A Mom, private detective and a vampire. Quite the combination! Heart rending, pulse pounding and deeply endearing. I can't wait to start book 2!

Sam is a mom, wife, private eye and a vampire. Striving to continue her daily life after being turned is difficult and exhausting. Not a great deal of substance, but a solid book for a rainy afternoon. 3 stars
A fun, easy read. Samantha Moon makes for an unusual vampire who is far more "human" than the genre norm. Like many vamp novels, Moon Dance is a mystery with a dash of romance thrown in. Sam's complicated personal life add interest and dimension to her character, making her easy to relate to.
This was fun enough and a very easy read. The detective story elements let it down but the vampirism was actually quite entertaining

Short, sweet, paranormal book. The action part of the book is the main focus. The romance is in the background. It reads like a journal of sorts - like a day in the life of a vampire.
I really enjoyed. Even though there are some violent scenes there are also parts that remind me of every day life and just getting through it (unruly children, unruly husbands and annoying clients in the rough days, humor in others). It kept me up late to finish and I consider that a recommendation. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Other than Ann Rice I have never read vampire books, and have never been interested in contemporary vampire books. But I took a shot and I have really enjoyed these books, I'm on the third book now and they are really good. Samantha Moon is a soccer mom, mother of 2, private investigator and vampire. She is married to a jerk of a lawyer, who instead of loving and supporting her, has abandoned her emotionally and is having an affair with his secretary. Samantha has plenty of support from other people but no true love interest, so there is no unnecessary sex, which to many times distract from the point of the story. The story revolves around Samantha coming to terms with being a vampire, her failing marriage, her children and the cases that she has been hired to solve.
Nothing groundbreaking, but a perfectly fine bit of entertainment.
Three and a half stars, really, and I'm interested enough to read more in this series, but rounding down the rating for some things I didn't quite care for (e.g. the protagonist's sister asking all those nice questions to give us background information - an often-done way of infodumping without it coming off too forced, except that if said sister is also a good friend, they meet on a regular basis and the events in question happened six years ago, one would think she wouldn't really need to ask all those questions any more...).

Nice introduction to this series, and what a story... poor Sam!
