Honestly, I don't think goodreads is suited for reviews of literary merit. So I rated how I felt. It was okay but I wouldn't mind reading it again. This has nothing to do with its literary merit. My dislike stemmed from the fact that barely anything happened and it wasn't entertaining. Obviously literature is not meant to be entertaining. Which is why I say my rating does not describe it's literary worth.

Literary-wise it brings up and interesting dynamic between Gregor the bug and his family dynamic. I can understand why it's so widely read.
