a bit dragging but the glitch here is, there was nothing to look forward to. The ending was a typical ending and it didn't really leave me awed. I was just, well, glad i finished the book.

4.8 stars actually. this was a brilliant ending book to the series.the first two books were hopelessly bad and were just awful in general. but i'm glad i carried on.
Elegy was brilliant due to it having a really good story line and it was full off action. i loved the whole book until the end. the end could have been far better and stronger. i feel that it should have ended with Gemma dying in Alex's arms to have a really powerful ending rather than the happily ever after (apart from Penn, Thea,Liv and Kirby off course). oh well its been written now
if you want to try reading this series skip the first two books and get to the decent books. its worth it as i loved every minute.

Final apresurado, no hubo estrategia o un plan en la batalla final. Pensé que por lo menos iba a acabar en una tragedia con la muerte de Gemma pero ni siquiera pudieron darnos una muerte decente. Esta saga es tremendamente aburrida y fue pérdida de tiempo, mejor lean Percy Jackson o vean Avatar.

Dit is zo'n bijzondere serie om recensies over te schrijven. Zeker in het tweede en het derde boek gebeurde eigenlijk heel weinig, werd er een heleboel drama gemaakt en leidde het allemaal nergens heen en toch blijft de serie enorm boeien. Het is een soort guilty pleasure. Het soort serie waarvan je verstandelijk echt wel weet dat het niet heel briljant is, maar waar je toch enorm veel plezier aan beleeft. En dat is voor mij wel waar lezen over gaat.
In dit boek gebeurt gelukkig wel een stuk meer. Dat moest ook wel. De vloek moest nog gebroken worden, er moesten nog een paar relaties gered worden en we misten ook nog wat stukjes mythologie. Op dat gebied is dit boek een hele fijne afsluiting. Het geeft alle ontbrekende informatie, het geeft alle antwoorden en het lost ook nagenoeg alle issues op. Het is op heel veel vlakken een heel bevredigend einde, ook al krijgt niet iedereen een lang en gelukkig.
Ik denk wel dat deze serie minimaal een boek korter kon. Sowieso hadden we niet zowel het tweede als het derde boek nodig. Daarnaast had er heel veel in elkaar geschoven kunnen worden en had het tempo wat opgevoerd kunnen worden. Zeker omdat de eerste helft van de finale eigenlijk niets meer was dan een snelkookpan die eindelijk overkookte. Dat had ook al eerder kunnen gebeuren, want Penn was al heel lang heel vervelend.
Maar, zoals ik al aangaf, ik heb wel enorm van deze serie genoten, ben er doorheen gevlogen en voor mijn doen heb ik alle vier de boeken ook in een relatief korte tijd gelezen. Dat zegt ook heel veel. Deze serie heeft een beetje wat Twilight ook heeft. Nee, het is niet hoogstaand en dat snap ik ook wel. Alleen de karakters zijn zo menselijk, zo emotioneel en ik zat er toch helemaal in en leefde toch helemaal mee. En soms is dat verdomd lekker!

very good conclusion to this four part series. very good character development throughout. i like this author - read the hollowmen and am waiting for that one to finish up, fingers crossed. this is a great series with likable characters and fun villains.

¿Qué más podía pedir para ser el último libro de la saga? Tiene de todo, pero en su medida justa y necesaria. Cada detalle, diálogo, y si puedo decir cada acción de cada personaje tiene su perfecto propósito; en ningún momento la historia pierde su sentido y si en algún momento se llega a tornar aburrida ¡BAM! Algo nuevo aparece, haciendo que te quedés leyendo hasta que no des más del sueño.
Amanda se ganó un lugar entre mis autores favoritos, sabe exactamente dónde tiene que ir cada cosa y no hace como muchos autores que dan muchas cosas por sabidas y directamente no te lo dicen.
Hace mucho que no leía un libro que te dejara con la tensión hasta el último capítulo.
Una de mis partes favoritas, y me permito ponerme empalagosa:
"I want to be with you, I don't know if that's what you want or what's best for you. And I don't care if it's dangerous or what might happen to me. I just want to be whatever you need me to be, wheter it's your boyfriend or a total stranger. Whatever you need, whatever you what from me, I'll give it to you."
Valió enteramente la pena leerlo entero en su idioma original :).

I'd give it a 3.5. I just found it a little unnecessary for her to write a whole four books in this series. Could easily have been done in three. I'm also getting a little weary of the tired old plot device of characters doing ridiculous things "to save the people they love." I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it just seems to be overused here and for too long, etc.
I enjoyed seeing it all wrap up, and I must admit I also figured out what the solution was ages before the characters did, so I felt a little impatient with them. So, all in all, mostly enjoyed the series, but I didn't think it was great enough for four stars.

I love the characters in this series and I am really fascinated with the fantasy aspect to the story. I am looking forward to the mystery to it all. The writing was really good and helped develop the storyline but I feel like the chemistry between the characters could have been more intense.
