Very hard to get into, but in a way I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to know what was going on in the Gilead and all the secrets. I would like a different book with the perspective of someone more in charge.

I had a hard time with this one. It felt disjointed and really hard to read. I gave it two stars because the epilougue pulled it all together and explained why the book was written the way it was.

I still have no idea what the plot is. Am i glad i read this book? Well yeah it’s a classic. Would i recommend it to someone? Not exactly. There was just no plot to it, it was mostly just the main character narrating how things are going in that society and how it came to this (although that isn’t fully explained). The writing wasn’t even that good and the ending was just confusing to me. Honestly the whole book was confusing to me. I only really understood what it was about about halfway through. Gave it 2.5⭐️

Well written but hard to appreciate because of A-Level English Lit. Plus the timeline of this book made it actual hell on earth to write essays about.

Loved the concept, but the execution didn’t land for me. The show handles it better (still not a fan of Elizabeth Moss). The constant jumping around made it hard to stay immersed. I kept getting pulled out of the story.
