I love this author and this book has been my favorite so far (which I sorta say every time!). The characters are believable and lovable. The story is good, there is some neat history along the way that is well-researched, and the romance is built up with perfectly tantalizing tension and eventual payoff. There is humor, grief, love, and passion. A great read.

So, so good. Everything about this story was well paced and earned. I loved the discussion about women’s rights, class rights, and economics. It was refreshing to have Hattie care so much for her cause while also having hobbies and interests outside of it.

This series is one of my absolute favorites! The combination of detailed, nuanced historical information with steamy, vulnerable love scenes makes for a compelling read. I really appreciate the multiple viewpoints Dunmore has offered through this series when it comes to Britain's women's suffrage movement.

The ending of this third installment felt a little disjointed from the rest of the story. Not so much in content, but the pacing seemed to go a bit off the rails in the last 10% of the book. Apart from that, I loved Hattie and Lucien and their opposites-attract romance. It was refreshing to see two people figuring out how to love one another in the face of very different backgrounds, ideals, and convictions. And huzzah for dyslexic representation! Especially in the context of a time period when it was woefully misunderstood.
