This book was interesting and authentic. It made me smile and it made me tear-up. The authors speak about the formation of the Ear Hustle podcast, their relationship as unlikely co-hosts, the stories of the people they've met in and outside of prison, and the challenges they've faced in doing their work. I have learned a lot in reading (and listening to the podcast) about the experiences of those incarcerated or impacted by the criminal justice system. Nigel and Earlonne stayed true to their goals of telling these stories with authenticity and compassion, leaning into the commonalities humans have across place and experiences.
