A história é engraçada; gostei especialmente a visão que temos da cabeça de um esquizofrénico. Mas tinha potencial para mais, ficou aquém do que estava à espera.

I watched the movie first and fell in love. So I came to read the book which honestly is very different but I still really enjoyed it.

There's some Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling talk in this book. Just a warning for people who don't like that. It annoyed me a little bit.
A lot of religion talk which I didn't know was a big thing in this and if I had known I probably wouldn't have read it. I have no problem with religion but I am not religious.
I like that just because he found love doesn't mean it cured him from his mental illness like I've seen in other books.
Small thing, but I don't like the title. Could have had a better and more relevant but that's whatever.
Liked the family dynamic and pretty much all the characters. Liked Dwight, especially that one scene when he went over to Adam's house after everyone found out he had Schizophrenia. Really like Maya and her honesty, she really reminded me of myself sometimes and I love that even though Adam was pushing her away she was persistent and didn't give up on him.

A nice, realistic to my understanding view on schitophrenia. I like this book because it doesn't try and demonize or glorify it. Adam just calmy deals with his hallucinations, and stigma, and does his best to live a normal life.

There isn't too

You guys, I love this book so much. I cried so hard and my heart felt so heavy, both with happiness and sadness. I have not felt this much from a book since ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES and THE SERPENT KING. The book was set up like a journal and we went on the roller coaster of a ride with Adam and his story was truly eye opening. We got all his thoughts and all his emotions and it felt as though you felt as though you were one of Adam's real friends. I love when books expose me something I did not know about before. WOBW was easy to read and you felt so connected to Adam and all his friends and by the end of the book you were really rooting for Adam to get better and you were ready to go against the world to make sure it happened, and oh my heart is heavy again with the thought of this book. Please read it.

honestly, this is probably one of the worst books I've read. The writing leaves something to be desired, and the portrayal of mental illness wasn't exactly my favorite either. But I absolutely loved it. The critic in me in unsatisfied but the reader in me made me read it twice (something that rarely happens). I can't tell you why I loved it so much but I truly did.

Absolutely AMAZING from start to finish. I feel like everyone needs to read this book. It was really amazing and I’m hoping when I go to watch the movie it matches up!

pleasantly surprised with this one. a little predictable but, overall really well written.
