I wasn't as thrilled with this graphic adaptation of the book that I had just read. I know that they can't get everything into one book, and that this is a series of graphic novels, but it didn't feel as magical as the original book. Still, it was a good reread of a good book.

I didn’t really enjoy this. I almost DNF-ed it. I felt obligated to read it instead of just for leisure (which is not something you want in a book), but that’s what kept me going to the end and it did get more and more interesting. Just not for me though.

I am a huge fan of "The Graveyard Book", so was very eager to see how it had been adapted into a graphic novel. The idea of using different artists for each chapter was a slightly unusual one, but if I hadn't known that's what they had done, I'm not sure I would have picked up on it. Gorgeous character design too. Still think I prefer the original book, but this is a faithful take on it and I absolutely would recommend to any Gaiman fans.

The Graveyard Book in its original form is a book that I loved tremendously and think about all the time, so I decided I'd finally get around to checking out the graphic novel adaptation! While it definitely doesn't function as a full substitute for the original book, if you've read the novel and enjoyed it, I highly recommend checking this out as an addition to it. It lacks a great deal of the heart and charm of the original story, as is the usual case for adaptations like this (after all, there's only so much you can pack in!), but it's still a lot of fun and covers the important bases of the plot! I do wish the art had been a little more whimsical and fun to go along with the story, though.

Gorgeous illustration and words that allow you to get lost in the story. Neil Gaiman is magic. So is this book.

This is my first foray into reading graphic novels (and Neil Gaiman, for that matter). My boyfriend received a copy to review and never read it, so I picked it up since I've heard good things about the author. Overall, I found it to be an enjoyable read. The story kept me interested, and the graphic novelization created an environment that allowed for a quicker read. I found that the art added to the story in a positive way. I honestly can't make a judgment about the different artists--I found it all to have a cohesive enough visual style that the changes weren't disruptive. I'm definitely interested in checking out the next volume once I knock out some other things in my reading queue.

I'm not really sure what to think. It was definitely a Neil Gaiman book. And I enjoyed it in graphic novel form. I haven't read the actual novel so I have no idea what's going to happen. This includes chapters 1-5 of the novel and each one is illustrated by a different artist. But all chapters are done very similarly so I didn't even notice until about chapter 4. I'm definitely looking forward to the next volume and finding out what's going to happen. Especially with Jack and Silas.
