Weird and sort of wonderful. This is a graphic novel adaptation of the book by Neil Gaiman. It has a different artist for each chapter, which was fun and I definitely had my favourites. I love the concept and it was fun to read it in this format, so I will definitely be picking up the actual novel at some point - I've heard the writing is great.

I haven't read the source material, but in graphic novel version, I loved The Graveyard Book! By the last third of the book, things really started moving and the characters became more developed. I look forward to the next volume. I would love to dance the Macabray, too bad it isn't on the any ballroom syllabus I'm familiar with :).

Illustrations only add to the wonder of this amazing book.

This is a lovely adaptation of a wonderful book. I am reading this in part to try to decide if it belongs in my teen or juvenile graphic novel collection. J would make sense, since the novel is also JF, but the first scenes are awfully visually disturbing. This will require a bit more research.
dark hopeful inspiring mysterious medium-paced

A great graphic novel version! I suggest to read the original hard bound first. The graphics add so much more interest.

A relative I love gave this to me, and I read it because they were very inspired by it. But the whole time, I knew what was in that stupid, gimmicky envelope. This book is just a drawn-out version of one of those insufferable inspiration posters. In reality, it will change your life about as much as a soggy sandwich.
