I'm gonna be honest I don't know what the fuck just read. Like I think it was just Aristotle having a wee rant about poetry n shit and fangirling over Homer.
He did have some banging quotes though
"Beauty depends on size and order; hence an extremely minute creature could not be beautiful, for our vision becomes blurred as it approaches the point of imperceptibility"
"The larger the plot is, while still remaining perspicuous, the more beautiful it is in virtue of magnitude"
like bro, similar to beauty, the plot must be big enough to be perceived but not too big that it overwhelms you. Like hello Aristotle I didn't know you were teaching me screenwriting.
ALSO BITCH, ARISTOTLE HAS SPOILED THE ODYSSEY FOR ME LIKE I KNOW HOW IT ENDS NOW, I DON'T NEED TO READ THE FUCKIGN BOOK ANYMORE BECAUSE FUCKGN ARISTOTLE SPOILED IT FOR ME.

If you're like me and accidentally bought a copy which has an introduction that's longer than the actually Poetics, then do yourself a favor and have a John Keating moment by ripping out the pages. Aristotle can handle his own.

Boring and monotonous to read... but essential for anyone interested in studying theater (or any narrative form, for that matter. It was just written for the express purpose of analyzing theater).
