Callie is girl who lived a sheltered life in a cult. When she leaves the cult to lead a normal life, her world changes when she meets Ridge. Ridge is a GRUMPY ex hockey player who runs a bar and is quickly obsessed with Callie when he sees her. When Ridge hears that Callie has left her former life and is looking for a place to stay he takes full advantage of the situation and offers her the other side of his duplex. Things quickly heat up for the virgin FMC and the grouchy/protective MMC.
There were some really cute, cheesy parts to the story but it just went to show how naive Callie really was is this new life she was living. I literally giggle like a school girl cuz they were so cute. & Ridge was so sweet and patient with her. I also LOVED the way Ridge was so protective over Callie and anyone messing with her or sitting in her seat 😂 All in all a cute book, quick read, love the characters and would def recommend!

There were so many mysteries in this book it kept me engrossed the entire time. I wanted to know more about Callie and her childhood. I wanted to know more about Ridge and all the little things he did for Callie before she moved in next door.
It was a very low angst romance. Ridge was extremely patient with Callie, giving her time to acclimate to his obsession and to be ready for the physical aspects of a relationship. I loved their text exchanges and the way Callie rambled on. She was so open with Ridge and didn’t know how to be any different.
Ridge was such a fun mmc. He was grumpy and quiet but showed a completely different side of himself to Callie. He was still grumpy and protective, but he was also patient and thoughtful. I loved how Ridge wanted to give Callie all the experiences she’d missed out on and how much joy that brought him.
I loved Callie’s innocence. She and Ridge made such a fun couple to read.

**I received a free, advanced copy of this book for reviewing purposes. Thank you to the author, Harloe Rae for including me in this release!**
Callie is an innocent, timid girl who grew up in a restrictive compound where women were seen as objects. After leaving her abusive father and home, she ends up in Knox Creek, where she'd previously met Harper (from Wrong for You). Needing a place to stay, she ends up moving in next door to Ridge, ex NHL player, and co-owner of Roosters, a bar in town.
When Ridge spots Callie for the first time, he's hooked. When she moves to Knox Creek, the grumpy bar owner finds himself becoming her landlord and becoming more and more obsessed with her (but not in a bad way- don't get it twisted!).
From page 1, Callie and Ridge captured my heart. This book had me laughing out loud, swooning, and grinning like an idiot. I really couldn't have asked for a better story. Within a few chapters, I knew this book would be heading to the top of my Harloe Rae book rankings.
Obviously, Score on You earns 5 out of 5 stars from me. It's got all of the classic small town vibes that Harloe Rae has perfected. If you are looking for a slow burn, grumpy/sunshine, innocent FMC, with an obsessive, overly protective, 'touch her and die' man, this is the book for you!

This is the first book I've read by Harloe Rae, and it won't be my last. I like the story in itself. It had a lot of cheesy lines between the characters and some weird banter, but maybe I need to read the other books in this series to better understand certain people. Like Harper and her story. I was thrown off by her some, but that's just my opinion.
Tropes:
- Retired Hockey Player/Bar Owner
- Small Town
- Virgin FMC
- Possessive/Obsessed MMC
- Neighbors
- She came from a Cult
- Found Family
Ridge knows what he wants, and she came into his small town a year ago. Her name is Calliope, and Ridge will do whatever it takes to make her his. Including moving her next door to the attached duplex to live for free. He is willing to give her whatever her heart desires. Ridge is retired from the Minnesota Trojan's NHL team and now owns a bar with his 2 friends.
Callie escaped her past a year ago from the compound. She is still figuring out life and the ins and outs of everyday things. She can't from a cultish place where women are subservient to men. She knows nothing about relationships or pleasure. Callie is kind of dense and clueless about a lot of things. It's a good thing Ridge is a very patient man, and she had a friend like Harper to help her learn a few things.
Ridge knows they are meant to be together and is patient if anything else. He's also very protective of Callie and is willing to hurt anyone who hurts her or looks at her the wrong way. Ridge wants to give Callie the world, and she just wants him. He teaches her everything in the pleasure sense from holding hands to kissing too much more. I loved the way Ridge wanted Callie to talk to him about everything. He liked her formal texting when Harper told her to quit doing it. He loves Callie just the way she is

The way ridge will do absolutely anything for Callie melted my heart! He was so patient with her.
Callie escapes her life in the cult she grew up in and doesn’t realize that she’s caught the eye (and heart) of Ridge. When Ridge finds out Callie needs a place to stay he doesn’t hesitate to move her into the unit attached to his. His months of patients pay off and he is finally able to start winning over the heart of Callie. Even when she didn’t know it Ridge knew his future was with her!

Look, sometimes you want to read a book where the guy wants her. From the beginning. No questioning.
Ridge Carter is a former hockey player who's found a new reason. And that reason is Calliope Porter. Calliope has a secret, though, she's not had a regular relationship. Or a regular upbringing.
He's known he's been interested in Callie for awhile but has taken his time. He's waited until she needs a new place and she's living next door.
I really enjoyed it. He was kinda alpha about her, but not in a jerky way. He's really respectful and cares for her.
I loved their relationship. And this can be read as a standalone, but it also includes some characters from her previous books!

A small town, grumpy/sunshine romance that comes with a former ice hockey star for its hero and who makes for perfect boyfriend material especially when his heart’s desire is as quirky as Calliope Porter. Ridge Carter had taken one look at Callie and fallen head of heels, hearts in his eyes in love with her so when she quickly needs to find somewhere to live, he sees his chance and rents her half his duplex and begins an old fashioned courtship complete with the pet names of Sweetness and Boyfriend albeit one with some serious spice and flirting as he lets her set the pace as she explores her blossoming feelings for him
I loved Ridge, he was so sweet and tender with Callie but gruff and grumpy with everyone else. Callie was a bit of a conundrum. She’d grown up in some kind of commune where women were considered a man’s property and had escaped that life but had no experience of the world and her development as Ridge’s love gave her the strength and courage to break out of her shell was beautifully written and easy to see especially through their texting which quickly graduated into sexting, Their romance might’ve been slowburn but you could feel the heat rising with every turn of the page. I wish there had been more depth to Callie’s background as Score on You begins with her leaving home, with only the vaguest plan of going to Knox Creek before it then picks up one year later with her settled in the town. I just would’ve loved to read her about her initial experiences of freedom in Knox Creek.
This book snuck up on me, I was enjoying Callie and Ridge’s story, but then I could not put it down!
Ridge is the PERFECT book boyfriend! While they are both shy at the start, time lets them bloom. The patience, protection, and flirty texts show a side, that only Callie gets to see. He allows her to grow, trust, build her confidence, and lead the way to their relationship. I enjoyed every page, and was sorry to have the story end.
