The premise for this series is so fucking weird, but in practice this was actually a really sweet romance featuring a couple with remarkably good communication skills. The number one thing that drives me crazy in romance books is when there's a small problem that could be so quickly fixed by one adult conversation but, instead, the main couple just pouts in their opposite corners for 200 pages, and, at least in this first volume, this book completely avoids that issue. Literally every time this couple has a misunderstanding they talk it out in less than 5 pages, and both of the MC's are surprisingly emotionally intelligent and well adjusted. I really didn't expect to like this as much as I did, and I will defiantly be continuing the series.

'Sweat and Soap' by Kintetsu Yamada is a sweet if slightly strange romantic comedy manga about a girl who sweats a lot and a boy who is a perfume design and likes how she smells. It is a cute office romance that works well because both of the characters are so genuine. Asako is incredibly self-conscious about how she smells and seeing how Koutarou appreciates her while also making her feel loved and cared for is endearing to read. It can take a bit to get over the strange concept but the way that these characters interact with each other makes it easy to care for them. I can't wait to read more and see how their relationship develops.

This series is so cute and sweet, and I love how communicative the main relationship is.
