I'm a huge fan of Emily McIntire. So with the release of this series I devoured this book in less than a day. Our FMC and MMC fell in love young and battled lots of demons. I'll admit Chase isn't my favorite MMC and I don't feel he groveled enough but I enjoyed this book and fell in love with the side characters (I'm looking at you Jax.) I can't wait to continue this series and see more of Sugarlake!

I was gonna read this book because it would be a quick and easy read. It was a quick and easy read, it just also shattered my heart and then slowly glued it back together. This book was intense. In an insanely good way. Those characters grew and learned so much throughout their story. Their love was so clearly there, but for a long time it was simply not meant to be. I also liked how the characters of the future books were already introduced in this book. I can't wait to read their story!
