I read Kisser by David James Brock, which was a little nightmarish and surreal and felt like a personal work, laying bare thoughts we don't necessarily voice and share with others, but not in an annoying Catcher in the Rye way. I spent much of the story wondering what was literally versus figuratively real, or not at all. Flight by Innocent Chizaram Ilo was an aching story about bonded grey parrots facing habitat loss and trapping for the global pet market. It was hard to read.

I really liked Dani Atkinson's poem Like a Box of Chocolates.
