¡Espectacular! Múltiples momentos

This is very much a book for academics and students of art and design rather than something that a layperson can get to grips with. Appendices, footnotes, diagrams and lots of heavily referenced pictures means that you can spend a great deal of time working things out here which doesn't lend a lot of flow to the work. It is, I expect, something that will go on to be a classic of its time, because it is fairly comprehensive and covers a lot of ground.

It isn't entirely unreadable, it just took me a long time and a lot of thinking. I very much enjoyed the section where he looks at film, particularly his chapter on Hitchcock's Vertigo, as I found myself on much safer ground here in terms of being able to understand what he was talking about. For me however, it has flashes of brilliance rather than the full package.

"The only freedom we have is to look knowing that we are looking".

A must-read book that illustrates how our perception of colour has changed throughout history.

This book is incredibly good! So many informations written in a very pleasant and engaging manner, and so many work of arts and pictures to accompany them! I'm definitely gonna check out more books by Falcinelli because this was an amazing read.
