A good but not groundbreaking read. I saw the twist coming before I was even halfway through the book.
This book had potential to be something that really stuck with me. There's a twist at the end of the book, but if the reader has been paying attention at all throughout the book, he/she should be able to figure it out much earlier. This book is the account of an eight-year-old girl, basically about the horrendous abuse that her family puts up with from her step-father. The book is a pretty quick read. And while I found the main character to be somewhat interesting, the rest of the characters seemed somewhat one-dimensional to me.
I was very disappointed with this book. I had the whole story figured out very early and it wasn't very entertaining. I would not recommend this book to anyone who had more than 5 brain cells.
