This was a fun concept for a book. i liked how real the internal struggles of the characters were.  i also like how their relationship progressed on a less than linear path. i enjoyed the topic of bullying/dozing were addressed alongside the them of finding your own path and forging it for yourself. overall, i fun and stimulating read

I bloody adore this book. We have the fun of a chaotic travel trip for six weeks won by chance from the radio, travelling with a club romance that is somewhat enemies to lovers due to having never called.

There’s a lot of back and forth emotionally and trust wise.  And careers and their impact on their happiness are at the forefront too.

A romance with a wonderful plot I really want to see more of these two characters tbh.

We have queer rep, working class rep, anxiety rep and also important continued conversation about abortion access and rights.

Enjoyable travel romance in which the female lead wins a trip around the world in a radio contest, with the catch that the station gets to pick a contact from her phone and that person will travel with her. That person turns out to be a man she only met once, but with both of them stuck in jobs they hate, they decide to go for it. Over their weeks of traveling, they develop feelings for each other. Some reviewers have complained that there was no chemistry between the couple, but I disagree. They had long conversations and revealed family secrets to each other as well as learning the small things about each other as they traveled. Yes, their poor communication was frustrating sometimes. I would have liked for each city they visited to be described in more detail, but this was only done for a few, which I definitely feel made the story more fun and helped their chemistry.

Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️

When a book is described as a mashup of two of my favorites (People We Meet on Vacation meets The Unhoneymooners), I had no choice but to read it, and it did not disappoint! 🩷

Honestly, this sounds like the coolest idea and I would love to win a contest to travel around the world for 2 months! I did take a deeper look at who was still in my phone contacts and deleted a few people in case this ever happens to me. 😂

I loved the chemistry between Dylan and Jack, but was a little annoyed by some of the miscommunications. I also feel like there was something lacking with their travels. I would have loved more descriptions and recommendations in the book if anyone wanted to try and recreate this trip.
For that reason, I’m giving it 4 stars.

Tropes:
Forced proximity
Grumpy X Sunshine
a touch of enemies to lovers

CW:
Abortion
Bullying
Panic Attacks

I went into this book looking for a lighthearted and funny romance across the globe but unfortunately this one fell flat for me. I found the FMC Dylan pretty unlikeable for most of the book. She was pretty harsh to Jack early on in book making lots of assumptions without getting to know him well. I also found her to be pretty careless online (shocking considering what has happened to her in the past). Jack and Dylan didn’t have much chemistry which also made connecting with the story more difficult. This book also features storylines surrounding online harassment and toxic relationships with parents so go into the book knowing that it isn’t all fun romcom energy. I would recommend this book for fans of social media culture and travel.
