“And it’s not that he’s unhappy. He’s fine. It’s all deeply fine. A whole lifetime of fine. [...] That’s not good enough for me.”

I really enjoyed this book! I like the texting bits and I’m glad it was made into a movie because it’s a good book. Was a bit boring at parts but I still really enjoyed it.

Best book I’ve read in a long time. Believable. Straightforward. Witty. Consensual. Complex. Bisexual representation. Biracial representation. Empowering female characters. It had everything I could have asked for. Not only was the book the book hilarious, it had
dimensional characters dealing with understandably difficult issues. The climax of the book was not overdramatic due to terrible communication or the other gripes seen in romance books. It was understandable and felt real. The side characters were developed as real people and weren’t pushed to the sidelines. Nothing was rushed since the characters got to know each other and friends and we’re able to talk about personal parts of their life. The book took time to incorporate culture and what it’s like the be biracial and recognize your own privilege. Overall, the book didn’t sugarcoat anything, but also left me hopeful. Love love love love this book.
