I am re-reading these (at least the first 4) from when I was a kid, and I still think in my adulthood that these are 100% better than Harry Potter. Anyone who wants their kids to get into fantasy but doesn't want to support JKR, this is the series for you. My only critique is that too many characters are introduced at once, and I feel like it gets kind of overwhelming. I had to keep flipping back like "oh right, Gabriel is the one who can do the thing with the clothes", but that is a small critique.
Oke, dua setengah bintang ding.
Sebenarnya ceritanya mengalir, namun terlalu banyak hal2 yang diceritakan dengan begitu saja, tanpa penjelasan.

So far, I've read up to the fourth volume in this series and I really liked it. I most definitely am planning on buying the other books to the series.
I like Charlie Bone. He's a boy who has newly discovered special powers and attends a school with other kids with special powers. There are some bad people, but his friends are loyal and resourceful. What? This reminds you of something else? I have no idea what you mean.
Anyway, a completely enjoyable read.

We really enjoyed this. Very creative, unconventional, liberally sprinkled with Englishisms that my son quickly learned.
Not a Disney ending, either--all the loose ends didn't get tied up, which really was kind of cool. We're both looking forward to book 2!

Ughhh...I don’t even know what to say about this book. I felt like the storyline was all over the place, and switching perspectives at random times was, well, random. I will not be reading any more of this series, but I’ll leave it in my classroom library for my fifth graders to potentially suffer through.
This is one of those books that I will always remember and always keep on my shelf. I've read this book so many times. The world is interesting, the characters diverse and creative and the story overall just fantastic. I first read this years and years ago and it's still one that I like to pick up and peruse every so often. This gets a wholehearted recommendation from me.
