I liked this. The author clearly hopped on the Harry Potter train. Oh there are differences, but it's still on the train.
I still liked it. Not to say that I loved it. The book had its drawbacks. Choppy plot, too many characters, no clearly defined antagonist.
I would have liked to have seen the language tighten up and Charlie's hair not be like Harry's... but you can only ask for so much from a children's book.

Very interesting to have a character who can hear what people are saying in photographs. Along with magical beings and inherited powers this makes for a great read for those who have finish Harry Potter or the Septemus Heap series.

I just can't stop with nostalgic childhood throwbacks
It's a bit like Harry Potter. The world isn't as vivid, but still a good read and a fun adventure.
