This has been a weird one for me. The part where Allen considers doing a heinous act, very much out of character, and decides against it in the span of a few pages put me off . Otherwise solid story including the Dinosaurus thread.

Even after 17 volumes, still loving this book. You have to read this one. It's a great superhero story that really does an incredible job handling things like family dynamics and creating an entire universe as opposed to a planet or two.

I have to say, compared to Kirkman's more famous Walking Dead, which I do very much enjoy...I think I get more excited about reading the next installment of Invincible. I enjoy zombie stuff, I still think the Walking Dead is a great book, but goddamn if I don't have a hard time remembering exactly who has lived, who died, and what happened in the last 15 or so volumes. With Invincible, I've only read through once, and I still remember almost all of what happened. It comes flooding back pretty fast, and the parts that aren't so automatic have good reminders built in by the writer. The events, the characters, they just feel bigger, more vibrant somehow. Even the side characters are so memorable. I guess this whole book has that option, the option to be outsized and incredible whereas it wouldn't really work all that well in Walking Dead. But screw it, if I had to read one Kirkman series, this would be it.

That said, what an amazing talent we have in Robert Kirkman.

I appreciate that the book maintains sort of an overarching narrative, along with a bunch of side stories and plots...and that the creators keep the work consistent. The artwork is always fun to look at. There is a point where Allen and Invincible's dad decide to start beating the crap out of each other when there is much more they could talk out...but I guess that would have messed up later developments...maybe. Everybody is a little too quick to act throughout much of the story here, which, of course, leads to further complications that need to be resolved, weird alliances springing up, etc. Still pretty fun, and some pretty cringe-worthy injuries in all the fights--particularly with Dinosaurus. Ouch.

It is almost good. You can see allies taking a stand against each other and even for something as cliché as the greater good, there is interesting character development. However, I do not think it is enough for take off, the story feels wobbly, to say the least.

It surprises me that I have read 16 volumes of Invincible now and yet to give a single volume a bad review , and the trend continues here .

I am not going to repeat how good the art work is , because it's been consistently good this far into the volume for everyone to assume that it will be consistently good in here and future titles .

The plot was so good on so many levels , with the status quo of many characters turned upside down . Many of the good peoples turned a bad turn , some bad guys turned good and we even saw some changing family Dynamics between Mark and Eve .

I was a bit disappointed with the lack of battle between Oliver and Mark and Mark and Allen , after a strong build up . And the whole heritage of Mark thing was a bit on the nose . But it still created a good opportunity for future plots .

In the end , another stellar issue , and honestly it's the best comic book series I have been reading for the past one and half year . I just need to find more easy access to purchase the future volumes

This was a great volume. The art keeps getting better and the arc was phenomenal. So many moving parts and executed so well, while also setting up one of my favorite arcs with Bulletproof.

Superheroes done right. Kind of burned out on the Viltrumite stuff but it seems to be taking an interesting turn. This book could be just Mark and Eve and I would be happy lol.
