This was a good book, a little more mature/adult-ish than I thought it would be, but it was good. I'm not sure if I want to continue the series, I wasn't totally into the plot. But maybe I will read the next book in a few months or something.

There is a lot going on in this book. The worldbuilding is an interesting take on Beauty and Beast but there were definitely some underdeveloped areas. I think there was a lot of potential for something completely transformative. Sometimes I was really into the plot and sometimes I just had to take a step back and say "what" because it just went a little overboard. Less is more sometimes. There were just way too many things going on. And the romance...not a fan. I like the couple but their romance is just strange to me.

Character Arcs

Let's talk about building characters for a second... K.F. Breene has done it again. She draws you in with her characters, pushes you away , makes you love them, all the while building their each individual arc that plays so well with other dynamics of the story. Here, you're not just reading a story about a darker version of Beauty and the Beast, you're reading about conflict and strife, love and arrogance, sheer determination and heart wrenching agony. I can't wait to read what the rest of the series plays out as.

This is a little too obvious that it’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling - possibly because he’s actually called a beast. I had a rough time getting into it but was more intrigued in the latter half.

It's been a long time since I was so caught up in a book. I should have left my house 3 hours ago. I tried to fight it, but finally gave in deciding I wouldn't be torturing myself by going to work with another unfinished book.
That's a lie, the book decided for me. Book finished and I'm not even a little sorry

This is the first book in a beauty and the beast retelling. I absolutely loved it. I don't usually read retellings, but I'm so glad I didn't let that keep me from reading it, as this is so much more.

There is sex, a lot of it, but there's so much more. That's the word that keeps screaming at me, more. This book is a lot of things, but mostly, it's just more. More of everything I didn't know I needed.

This book had a lot more explicit content than I was expecting and I can't tell if it was good or bad. The chemistry between our two MCs was great, but the side characters unnecessarily made everything sexual. It was meant to be shocking and comedic, which it was in the beginning, but then that's all they ever brought up. They had no other dialogue except to make sexual jokes that just got old.
