I'm a big Camilleri/Montalbano fan and was looking for something similar. Brunetti is it, but in Venice. Love it!

Satisfying ending and reveal. Well-written. Overall a v good and enjoyable detective book.
I have wanted to read this series for a long time so last week I picked book 1 up at the library. I was not disappointed.
A world famous maestro is found dead in his dressing room at the La Fenice Opera House during the second intermission of La Traviato. It is an obvious case of cyanide poisoning so Commissario Guido Brunetti is called in to investigate. It turns out the maestro was a real s.o.b. with a lot of people who would have liked to see him dead.
The ending was not what I expected but it was a very good ending. I am looking forward to reading book 2.
