challenging dark emotional mysterious sad

This book made me hate humanity. Except for the characters developed contextually for the sole purpose of wanting to check them in a garbage disposal and watch them rot, you can't hate anyone in particular, and that's what grated on my nerves. The ending leaves you tingly, wondering yourself what you would have done, and whether that makes you a good or bad person.
dark emotional mysterious sad medium-paced

Another engaging, fast story from LeHane. I did not see the twist coming, and I was thoroughly impressed with how deftly he wove together complicated storylines. A great book.

Gotta love a good Boston crime mystery.

time to watch the movie (THE AUDIOBOOK FOR THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!! highly recommend)

Read this title by accident (mixed up someone else's suggestion of "Gone Girl."
For not being what I thought it was, the book wasn't bad. The writing style seemed a bit dated, but there was enough mystery to keep me going to the end.
