I don't like the way it's written and I feel like the characters are kinda flat. It also annoys me a lot that the autor makes the whole base of the book about a man. This is literally lesbian fiction??? Why would a man be there???

I feel like this book would not have gotten the hype that it did if it wasn't a sapphic romance.
Representation is important, but it does not replace the need for good writing. This book was mediocre to it's bones and just happened to be about a romance between 2 women.
The writing style (not the content, but the style) felt very YA to me, and the whole thing was very predictable basically just combining every rom com troupe that ever existed.

It wasn't bad per se. I just don't understand the hype.

That was different from what I expected.

I began the Bright Falls Trilogy with the last book, ironically, and I haven't finished it yet. As a result, I was familiar with the characters but didn't fully understand them.

The book opens with a strong Iris Kelly (my beloved) and a tense Delilah Green. Soooo flashback to when I noticed the character development in book 3. This was the first thing that surprised me.

I also didn't remember that Delilah and Astrid were stepsisters and about their rocky relationship. That's the second thing.

I also didn't realize how much I would connect with Delilah and how much I would spend loving and hating, then loving and hating, most of the characters. That’s the third thing!

This book was full of surprises, and I think the Bright Falls queer coven should be adapted for the screen — all Gilmore Girls and Monte Carlo (2011) (Gosh this world would benefit from a queer Monte Carlo)

Reread June 2023 in preparation for Iris's story! - I'm even more excited about Iris after seeing her develop in the previous books!

This book gets all of the stars! Oh my gosh I loved this book. The writing was so good, the characters were deep and well fleshed out, and it was so funny! I laughed out loud several times! I cannot recommend this book enough. It will 100% make my top books of the year and I can't wait to see what she comes out with next!
