Following the trend of my Unhinged review, rating on vibes, the only reason this isn’t higher is cause I enjoyed Unhinged more. I love this series…

Even though this series is dark, I feel like it may become a comfort one for me. This family that was built for karma murder is the sweetest family I know. They would literally unalive for one another. Their bond showed more in this book with how they started to accept their brothers' partners into the family.

August surprised me, I thought he would be the dominate in the relationship. I was wrong. The twist of this dynamic made the book better for me because it showed how looks can be deceiving, which is how the Mulvaney's lived their lives.

The storyline was interesting. I love how the author has created this world where it feels like I'm watching a crime show but instead of catching bad guys, they unalive them.

A lot of spice, wholesome moments with psychopaths and there is murder, right on point

August and Lucas<3

A new book means a new brother to get to know. For this book we got to meet August. When really hooked me on this series was the prologue that we get before the actual story starts. You get a glimpse of who they are and get the story on their life before they met Thomas. August interested me in his prologue because of how they described him and how smart he was and how that caused his home life to not be so great.

Then we get to his story as an adult who teaches at a university. That’s where he meets Lucas, an ex-fbi agent who’s had it tough ever since reporting a fellow agent as being a serial killer. Lucas has a certain ability that allows his to see things and feel things when he touches a person or an object. This was how he helped solve cases in the FBI but was ultimately his demise as well.

When Lucas accidentally touched August, he knew who he was and the things he has done. This was the domino affect of their relationship. As the story progresses and these two spend more time together, august offers up his assistance to prove Lucas to be right about his ex-coworker being a serial killer.

I enjoyed getting to know August and Lucas more mainly because these two were definitely different but still fit together like a perfect puzzle piece. August is very straightforward and not so good at reading context clues. But he has never once shied away from giving Lucas the truth and laying it all on the table for him. He knew from the beginning that Lucas would be his forever and only needed Lucas to see it the same way. When these men find the one person who they know is there’s, nothing will stand in their way.

August Mulvaney
  • Looks: thick brown hair that swept away from his face in a wave and the beginnings of a beard over a strong jaw. His nose was just the tiniest bit crooked, like he’d broken it, and his top lip was slightly smaller than his bottom, which in no way detracted from his attractiveness. Looks like adult Harry Potter. Chest hair and belly hair. Uncut.
  • Very Dark academia living space - to help cut down on the sound and overstimulation.
Personality: childlike in his moods. Weird obsession with Celine Dione and knife collection and swords and medieval devices. Kills people to pop music. Sexual sub.
  • He’s smart. Einstein level smart. Ph.D. Professor of Quantum Physics, Ph.D. -  biomedical engineering (first at 18yo). 2 masters degrees - applied mathematics and Russian literature. Eidetic memory and (over stimulated) receptors. And so he’s also kinda people stupid. Dad lied about his age (making him older) to ease the child genius thing.
Origin: youngest find so far, 4yo. Born named Isaiah. Mother had severe schizophrenia and he was smart so she thought he was a changeling and locked him in his room evermore 2yo+. No human contact during that time. Mother killed herself and when police cleared her body they found him. Only likes music and is violent only when touched. He chose his name August.
Lucas Blackwell
  • Looks: Dirty blonde hair, green eyes. 6 foot tall.
  • Personality: Clairvoyant. was a FBI agent before college criminal psychology professor. Gay. Bookworm. Got hurt in the shoulder and doesnt have full use of right arm.
  • Origin: Small as a child. Afraid of everything because of his power.
  • Family: His mother was psychic(?) but died before his visions started. Grew up with his grandpa who was the old fashioned type (across the board).

  • Cute meet = psyometrist touches a serial killer and then the killer is the only one to take his visions seriously.
  • “You’re batman.” Mmm. “I’m batman” and he’s dense and goal-oriented like the college humor batman character.
  • 28% in and already talk of marriage. august doesnt mess around. He wants the unconditional that he sees Adam and Noah have.
  • Very hot psychic sex scene, it would be so hot to have that trust and constant feedback during sex. *across the room: “so talk more”. It’s also where a lot of the attraction and [fast] trust building is concentrated.
  • First Psychic look into thomas, the originator of the necessary evils. i cant wait to hear his story, and i already suspect the father-son forbidden trope will be for thomas and aiden.
  • Cute moments mimicking genuine reality of having a supportive partner who helps you or eases your pain or just keeps you company. Her ability to get you to instalove with the characters for the characters while reading is talented on her end and so much fun on the reader’s end. :)
