I liked this one more than the first book, even if the dynamic of the main characters was pretty much the same.

Like Adam and Noah from the first book, August and Lukas are sooo sweet that I just can't...
I shouldn't think of this story as a sweet one since there is a lot of gruesome stuff happening around. However, I cannot resist making googly eyes at the Mulvaney boys. Literally all of them.
August being hilarious showed that everyone is actually quite entertaining, even Atticus!
- "He just said he thinks he's truly crazy, not undercover. Not a glowing endorsement," Atticus said.-
-"But together, we fight crime," Asa said in a mockingly cheerful tone. Avi grinned at Kohn\s frown. "Millenials. We\re all about the side hustle."

HELLO AUGUST I LOVE YOU. Ahem. Look. What's not to love? Seriously. How are a bunch of literal psychopaths the most human people I've ever read about? I love this series so much. AND LUCAS?! Every single one of my weaknesses was hit with this book, it feels like. I was surprised (a little, but that's enough) by the twist with what was really happening with Kohn. I remain impressed with the attention to detail in how the Mulvaneys plan and execute said plans. Noah is still a sweetheart. I can't wait to read book three! (I'm still super curious about Aiden and Thomas, not going to lie)

I’m not going to dive into why I enjoy these books so much. I don’t want to think about it. But I enjoyed this one almost as much as the first! This family of psychopaths means the WORLD to me. Again with the instalove which I don’t normally like but hey it works for them.

I can’t help it. These books just work for me. I would like them to have more details about the aftermath. Some redemption for Lucas would’ve been nice! He should have a squeaky clean record.
The feedback loop technique was an interesting addition. I knew I was suspending belief in this series, but I didn’t see that coming. Fun! Reminiscent of PNR books. I had a more difficult time believing they left Cricket unattended!
