How is it that this is both darker, hotter and funnier than the first book?

There is so much here that shouldn’t work, but it does. I’ll admit I was slightly sceptical about Lucas’ talents but the way it compliments August, and how he adapts to whatever Lucas needs is just so sweet.

The sex in this book takes it to another level compared to the first but it so well done in that it feels like a natural part of Lucas and August’s story.

Can I also say that I love Cricket as well, her and Calliope are fast becoming my favourite side characters and I hope for much more of them in this universe.

Honestly, lock me up and let me binge this fantastic universe, but also I don’t want it to end since it’s such a fun ride(that’s what he said 😉)

I should really start hitting myself over the head every time I contemplate skipping a much recommended, popular series. Past me was dumb. Present me loves this series so much. August and Lucas are perfect for each other and I'm just weak for all the Mulvaney boys.

On to book 3!

Oh I liked this even more than book one! The crime was kind of the smallest part for this story, but the romance *cue swoon*

I just love a character who feels unlovable finding the person they don’t have to pretend with. All the brothers were trying to tell August how to appear more normal and less himself, and all Lucas wanted was the real him so they could go be authentic together.

Micro-trope I didn’t know I loved until now: “MINE”

This book was honestly just such a good time. I enjoyed every second of the reading experience. I really liked both Lukas and August as characters and I loved how their relationship developed. I also really enjoyed seeing Adam and Noah again and seeing what their relationship looks like from an outside perspective. I also really enjoyed how while this book is similar to the first one it didn't feel like a carbon copy of that book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and am very excited to read the third one, hopefully soon!
