Typical Steinbeck. Great story, writing and characters. These are short stories which are separate, but interrelated in some way. All take place in the Pastures of Heaven. Steinbeck never disappoints

Steinbeck assembled a terrific collection of interrelated short stories in this book. One of his earlier works, a reader could easily see the writing talent that later produced some of the greatest American novels. Highly recommended if you appreciate classic authors and solid writing.
